History
14
years ago, a handful of international students decided they wanted
to show Calvin and the larger community who they were and where they come from; they wanted to show their cultures.
That's where
the idea of a cultural show came to be, a time where
international students could portray their culture through songs,
dances, and skits. They called the show "Rangeela," a hindi word for
"colorful."
What a fitting name for such a show. Over the follow
years, Rangeela evolved from a one-night show with an audience of
300 to a two-night show with an audience totaling of over 2200.
Rangeela has indeed solidified itself as being the most colorful show
on campus each year; its uniqueness and creativity leaving audiences
amazed at this small glimpse of a larger, more diverse world.
